Made in Paradise

From ancient time to the present, humans have been using clay to make containers for storing food. Clay is one of the most original materials that human used in history and it is still being widely used even now.

In western religion, apple can be seen as the original desire for human: to eat. If apple symbolized the eating desire then clay will be the desire for living. So I think it would be very interesting to combine eating instinct with survival desire.

In my work, I tried to 'store' the apples in the clay, but it was surprising that the apples did not evaporate after being fired. Instead, they were absorbed by the clay and turned into artificial fossils.
