1L Tears of Porcelain

Water is a part of life for clay, and the dryness of clay determines its plasticity. When the water evaporated, the clay body will slowly be dried, crack and become lifeless. I think the way water and clay coexist is beautiful but sad because at the same time they consume each other.

The concept is to redefine this sad way of existence and explore other forms of ceramics. So I thought about combining salt and slips to form 'tears'. I used the salt of the Dead Sea which has the highest saltiness and combined with porcelain slips. This time-lapse installation recorded how the salt water and ceramic water crystalized naturally and express a different life form of ceramic to the public.
